Frequently asked questions

Who needs an AML programme in the UAE?

Financial institutions and designated non-financial businesses and professions — including real estate brokers, dealers in precious metals and stones, accountants and auditors, and corporate service providers — must comply with the AML law and register on goAML.

Can you train our staff on AML?

Yes. We run practical AML awareness sessions built around your products, customers and risks.

Which law governs AML in the UAE now?

Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2025, with Cabinet Resolution No. 134 of 2025 as its executive regulation. They replaced the 2018 law and its 2019 regulation.

What is goAML?

The UAE Financial Intelligence Unit's online system. Businesses in scope register on it and use it to file suspicious transaction reports and other required reports.

Do we need a UBO register?

Yes. UAE companies must keep a register of their ultimate beneficial owners and file it with their licensing authority, and keep it accurate and up to date.
